Privacy Policy

SnoreVault (“we,” “us,” or “the App”) is a bedside snore and sleep-sound tracker. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your choices. We designed SnoreVault so that your sleep audio and night data stay on your device.
1. Summary
SnoreVault does not require an account. We do not operate a cloud backend for your sleep sessions. Audio recorded during a night, event clips, scores, timelines, tags, and history are stored locally on your device. Analysis runs on-device. We do not upload your night audio or sleep data to our servers in the background.
If you choose to share a clip or export data using your device’s system share sheet, that action is initiated by you and handled by the operating system and any destination you select — not by an automatic SnoreVault upload.
2. Information the App processes on your device
Depending on how you use SnoreVault and the permissions you grant, the App may process the following categories of information locally:
- Microphone audio during a tracking session, used to detect sounds such as snoring, sleep talking, coughing, and ambient noise, and to save short event-triggered clips.
- Motion / accelerometer data during a tracking session, used to estimate movement, restlessness, and related timeline markers (without attaching audio to motion-only markers).
- Session metadata you create in the App, such as start/stop times, optional delay and alarm settings, self-reported how-you-feel ratings, and optional factor or remedy tags (for example alcohol, caffeine, mouth tape).
- Derived insights stored on device, such as Sleep efficiency scores, restfulness summaries, timelines, and history of past nights.
- App preferences and settings you configure (for example clip retention preferences).
3. Permissions
Microphone access is required for overnight sound tracking and clip capture. Motion / related sensors may be used for movement-based restfulness estimates. You can revoke permissions in your device Settings; without microphone access, sound tracking and clip features will not work as intended.
SnoreVault may also use background audio capabilities so tracking can continue while the screen is locked. This processing remains on your device for the purpose of providing the App’s core features.
4. How information is used
On-device information is used solely to provide SnoreVault’s features to you, including:
- Detecting and labeling overnight sound and movement events.
- Generating scores, timelines, restfulness views, and morning reports.
- Saving and playing back short clips of moments you may want to review.
- Showing trends and with-versus-without comparisons for tags you choose to log.
- Letting you export, favorite, auto-purge, or delete local data according to controls in the App.
5. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your night audio to train advertising profiles. We do not provide a social feed or cloud sync of your nights in the current version of the App. SnoreVault is a wellness product and is not a medical device; it does not diagnose sleep apnea or any medical condition.
6. Third parties and sharing
Because session audio and sleep history are stored on your device and are not uploaded to SnoreVault servers, we do not share that content with third parties through the App’s normal operation.
If you use the system share sheet or export tools to send a clip or file somewhere else (for example Messages, Mail, or another app), you control that disclosure. Those destinations have their own privacy practices.
The App Store, operating system, and device manufacturer may collect limited diagnostic or usage information under their own policies when you install or use apps. That collection is governed by Apple (or your platform provider), not by SnoreVault’s on-device vault.
7. Retention and deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the App, or it is removed according to retention settings you configure (for example automatic purge of older clips, while favorites may be kept).
Uninstalling SnoreVault typically removes locally stored App data, subject to how your operating system handles app deletion. You can also delete sessions, clips, or all local data from within the App where those controls are available.
8. Children
SnoreVault is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a SnoreVault cloud service, because we do not operate one for night data. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises privacy concerns, contact us using the email below.
9. International users
SnoreVault processes night data on the device where the App is installed. If you travel or move devices, your local vault moves with that device’s storage. We do not transfer your night audio to SnoreVault servers across borders because we do not receive it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. For material changes, we may also provide notice in the App when practical.
